QUICK HIT: Rome on Warner, Interviews

On Friday’s radio program, Jim Rome conducted an interesting interview with Arizona Cardinals’ quarterback Kurt Warner. At the conclusion of the segment, Rome lauded Warner as an individual who was always available as a guest, regardless of how things were going in his career. In contrast, Rome compared Warner with a college basketball coach who would always come on his show when he was working his way up at mid-majors, but shunned the program once he hit ‘the big time’. Rome didn’t name the coach on air, and I’m not sure if Tennessee qualifies as ‘big time’, but for some reason Bruce Pearl came immediately to mind.

I seem to remember Pearl being on with Rome about the time that he painted himself in support of the Pat Summit and the Lady Vols. But I don’t recall anything lately from him.
I never seem to feel too bad when Tennessee men’s hoops loses, and I am definitely not a Bruce Pearl fan.
If you’re ever in need of some snake oil, I believe Pearl’s your man.
