QUICK HIT: 3/4 Packers

I think I finally realized why Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy has decided to employ the 3-4 defense heading into next season. As I understand it, the defensive lineman in the scheme are primarily responsible for tying up blockers and aren’t expected to make plays on the ball. So, it’s only logical that the Packers would consider such a formation, since they have a surplus of D-lineman who took up space and didn’t make plays last year.
