More Questions Then Answers

As I sat and watched the snow falling yesterday, naturally my thought turned to the Milwaukee Brewers. When last season ended I thought this was going to be a very interesting off season. Thus far that has not been the case. So here we sit with these questions unanswered.
After Gallardo, Parra, Bush & Suppan…who is the fifth starter?
In the bullpen is it McClung, Julio or ? as the closer?
Do you trade P. Fielder, if you can get value, before he becomes a D-line candidate for the Packers?
Can the Brewers go another year with Rickie Weeks, who I thought coming up would be the best of the young Brewers, at second base?
Who’s the third baseman, and if it’s Bill Hall, can we expect him to rebound after two bad seasons?
Is Corey Hart the ALL-STAR of the first half, or the mediocre player of the second half?
These are alot of questions to be answered for a team that was in the playoffs last year. While the farm system is still well stocked – Gamel, Escobar, Green – to name several these players are still at least a year away. I realize, other then a few big name free agents being signed, there hasn’t been much activity. However I hope that these questions will be addressed, as I do not care to go back to the bad old days.

I have thought for a long time that a trade that makes sense would be Bill Hall for Matt Guerrier of the Twins. Guerrier had a great first half but wore out in the second half. He is healthy, can fill a variety of roles in the bullpen or be a spot starter. The Twins need a 3rd baseman and Hall would provide them with a little pop. The money involved would not be an issue for either team, and both players are good citizens.
Nice line about Fielder. Unfortunately with the loss of Sabathia, I can’t foresee anything but a major backslide in MKE although hopefully not to the wretched state they occupied in the ’90s.
Since you have so much time on your hands that you can ‘watch snow falling’, you should weigh in on this blog more often. Otherwise, I have some paint down here that you can watch dry.
