A REEEAAALLLY Interesting Opener

This year’s 2008-09 Big Ten basketball season might be the most unpredictable in recent memory. Illinois’s overtime win over Purdue perhaps signals a sizeable shakeup in the conference heirarchy. With the exception of Indiana, which may not win a conference game, every team has hopes of postseason play.
Wisconsin opens with Michigan on New Year’s Eve Day. The Wolverines are 10-2 and have early season wins at UCLA and at home against Duke. A Badger win against a quality Michigan team would be a major statement.

And now the ‘fun’ begins.
A UW win over Michigan would, indeed, be a statement. But I am not holding my breath. I think UW is going to be severely tested in the Big Ten. Then again, I thought UWGB was primed to beat UW. So perhaps it is my negative mojo that will lead the way to a first division finish for the Badgers.
Keep it up, Chris. So far, it seems to be working.
